RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS VIDEO - BEHIND THE SCENES



All of us here at S77 had the amazing opportunity to work on the Red Hot Chili Peppers
“Monarchy of Roses” video.

We also explored a photo-realistic approach but decided to go with an illustrated look to further match Pettibon’s style.In the video, we employed the use of animation loops of Pettibon’s work that we made in Photoshop.Here are some of those loops in glorious animated GIF format!

The train that started it all! This animation test put the world of Pettibon in motion.
The headbanger was a staple of earlier animation, but wasn’t able to find a home in the final video.
An early animation loop that ultimately landed on the cutting room floor.
